Hey, Please forgive some of the terms i may use for bits. I'm not much up on the technical. But i'll do my best to explain.
My Fiesta, 1988 mk2, No matter what wheels i fit, they always look like they're sat TOO far in at the back. Partly because that's what mk2's do. Partly because the rear arches have been replaced and sit out about 5mm more than before.
So I'm thinking, Spacers!
But i got a few questions, some really silly!
Do i have to space fronts and rears together? Or can i just do rears?
Secondly, as the wheels sit on the hub. If i fit spacers, the spacer will sit on the hub and the wheel wont kind like in mid air until it's bolted up . Is this a problem? I've found spacers that keep the lip, they cost more money which i don't mind. But if it's not needed then there is no point.
Lastly, Bolt length. Of course going out 15/20mm each side is going to need longer bolts. But i have quite long bolts anyway, to check i figured i'd take a drum off, fit the wheel and spacer so i could check there was still some thread coming though the back of the drum's threads. If not, get longer bolts. Would that be the best way to check?
On another point, would there be any problems with the wheel bearings?
Many thanks
