If there are I am trying to figure out what to paint the viva in - I know it'll be matt black but it would look a bit boring I reckon - thought of pin striping but tbh it doesn't look all that awesome not on a hotrod. Soooo...I am nicking someone else's idea and changing it a bit. Could someone make the viva look matt black (if it's not too much problem). Then reverse these two designs. So the detailing would be green and the main colour would be black. The colour for the detailing: Triumph roulette green. There's a cool pint waiting at the next meet for anyone who has a bash. P.S. hope the original designers of those two ideas don't mine me using their pics.

If you can get a photo of yours at the same angle as the Ventora? then it will make things a lot easier. I think either of those would look cool on the Viva but it needs to come down and be shod with some wide rubber

I will get some proper pics - the viva will come down a couple of inches - just finding some coilovers for it at the mo - but skint as a don't know what, as for the wider rubber I have some slot mags I am polishing up at the mo. On second thoughts I'll get them cleaned, stick em on and get a pic at the correct angle.

What are you talking about Coilovers for Its got double wishbones and coils on the front and coils and trailing links at the back.... get the grinder out and lop a couple of coils out...... The fronts will need Coil spring compressors to get them out, the rears should fall out if you disconnect the dampers at the top and jack the body up get out and have a look underneath it and you`ll see what I mean

dom - I know what you mean. What i meant was a coilover kit for adjustable height and bound/rebound.
I am sanding away at the mo - will see if I can get round to lopping a couple of coils off today.
p.s. kyteler - that has totally made my mind up - thanks a bunch!

dom - I know what you mean. What i meant was a coilover kit for adjustable height and bound/rebound. Look, Coilovers are designed for macpherson strut type suspension you do not have that kind of suspension system You have a much more sophisticated arrangement to start with You can cut the coils and still fit adjustable dampers to alter the damping characteristics if you want ? but I bet you wont ;D Just cut the coils and fit some new Dampers, the ride will be much more controlled. Coilovers are not the "Wondermod" that a lot of people make them out to be, try adjusting them once you have had them on for a few months......... ;D They also can give a very very harsh ride....... main reason they are so popular is to get 17" wheels between a saxo wheel arch and Suspension strut the space normally occupied by a conventional spring. Which is in itself a "Coilover" type strut (The damper has a Coil over the top of it). Coilovers that you talk about are the same general Idea but using proprietry 2.25"id springs that are Industry standard in the Race world and available in many different lengths and rates. The ease of changing spring rate when testing is the reason they came about, the Adjustment collar should be used for changing spring preload and consequently corner weights NOT RIDE HEIGHT which is what most people think and do Save your money, there are far better gains to be had with it elsewhere ;D ;D

Anyhooo - leaving suspension out of it for a while - got the wheels on today, sanded more of the rear quarter down, got the bumpers off and started cleaning behind the lights/bumpers. Will get some more done later. . Pics of what it's like now.... Grotty cobras to the rescue!

p.s. some previous monkey put the tyres the wrong way round - so you couldn't see the whitewall-esque tyres on it:

By eck - well I don't know what to say. I'm touched! That is a bit of work that is.
Liking the colour scheme as well - with the rear muscle car like stripe. Think best POA is to get it black then decide what to stick on the black.
Thanks a bunch diff!

Seeing as you put some new pictures up, thought it would be rude not to Note: I do not spend long on these just long enough to keep myself amused and get the general look desired/requestedRAKE! ;D P.S berlinetta, give me a decent photo and I'll sort you out too, a nice front 3quarter or a plain side shot should do the trick.

[/speaking from experience]DON'T CUT VIVA SPRINGS! The fulcrum points involved in the IFS arrangement means that a shorter (ie. cut) spring will be effictively softer and won't make for good handling. You'll need a set of springs made up out of much higher rate bar.[/speaking from experience] Looked good, but the front end handled in a way worthy of a lowrider 'hopper'. ;D
