My car used a donut type flange, so has the long bolts with spring spacers/washer (whatever you want to call them!) I'm getting a new backbox which doesn't have the square nuts welded onto the flange, so new nuts are needed.
I'm lead to believe they are M10, by both the Japanese exhaust manufacturers website and by a chap who knows his stuff. So I was going to play it safe and buy both 1.25 and 1.5 pitch M10's, but another Japanese exhaust manufacters website leads me to believe I need M10 1.25, so I will give these a go first. All this muttering aside.
With a normal backbox with this type of joint am I right in saying you tighten the bolt until the entire thread has gone through the nut, or am I wrong here?
How many/what kind of nuts/hardware would people recommend I use? A single nut, a pair, with one locking the other in place, one nut and a washer, a nut with a flange built onto it?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
