anyone know or have a quad choke set up on there motor to show me what i need to use please.
i done have a lot of space to play with any help would be of great thanks.

You are a legend for having quad carbs on a V8! I think you might struggle to find a choke setup for them though, I imagine that most quad-carb setups would be on race engines and therefore don't need chokes. Good luck!

never need a choke on a downdraught or a side draught.
why do you think you need a choke? does it cough, splutter loads when cold? a few minutes warming up is usually all that is needed.
are the carbs balanced/set up properly?

As far as i know i did pay to have the carbs set up, but it coughs and runs like a pig when cold at one point i did have one choke cabled up and it did make some improvement when cold, i was advised to get them working thats what made me look into it.
so its really a choice thing 'to have or have not' choke wise i mean.

so it's fine when hot?
it may just be a little to lean at progression. also ignition timing could have a profound effect. it may be set up for full power but what is the timing like at low rpm?
being a V8 and large cams you can get away with a lot more bottom end advance to make the engine a bit perkier. problem with quad carbs is you can't have a vacuum advance so more low end static advance is the only way.

so did this get sorted? it'll be easier to make the engine run slightly richer at the low end and not need a choke. float height really affects the low end mixture. i still don't think you need a choke. and if you think i'm talking curse word i do this sort of thing for a living and before you ask, no it isn't a kit car
