An old Bugatti. Sounded the business: Probably sounded much like a TR6 or GT6. Cleverly disguised Triumph 6-pot there Some familiar looking RR cars out and about.

Is that a triumph engine!!! Some clever shiz going on there, that woulda had me fooled alright. Yeah. The first photo didn't feel quite right for a genuine car so I was looking at that engine shot and reckoned the SUs are 60s ones. Then noticed the form of the water pump housing etc. Also I thought it odd that it would have a pair of "fruit jar" master cylinders bolted to Triumph brackets. Then I realised that it would be odd for a Bug to have master cylinders at all, especially as he was rather anti hydraulic brakes and they used cables/rods well after everyone else was giving up on them. In summary, I expect that car is mostly Leyland.

An old Bugatti. Sounded the business: Probably sounded much like a TR6 or GT6. Cleverly disguised Triumph 6-pot there Some familiar looking RR cars out and about. I shall give you that, it did sound a fairly similar to a Triumph 6 Pot! I guess with what you were saying about Mr. Bugatti, it is a replica. Nicely spotted there . Is that a triumph engine!!! Some clever shiz going on there, that woulda had me fooled alright. Great pictures BTW!!! That green morris minor V8 looks interesting, any external pics of it? Bar the fact that I had my camera on ISO 600 (whoops) I guess they're fine. Thanks . The Green Moggy was definately a tasty car. Outside pics I could not really take due to the people around it! You can see a shot of it externally from the Mustang GT350 pic. Basically, it was lowered and had stock looking wheels (probably an inch bigger than stock) on with modern rubber. Was done 'right' IMO. Nice pics Chas! It was a really good day, full marks to the organisers! Always good to see a pic of my Passat that wasn't taken by me as well ;D Cheers stranger . I think full marks do go out to Matt (ClubbyMatt) for the effort put into making it a good day out. The Passat did indeed catch my eye .

Was a good morning out, and always good to catch up with people. Big thanks to clubbymatt and the other organising things, giving the number of cars/bikes in a small area, it was very very well organised As for the Bugatti replica, I didn't even notice the finer details, all I was bothered about was how lovely it sounded, even for a Triumph 6 it was lovely And thanks theprong, we were having major issues trying to work out what the V8 was from, wasn't a single obvious casting mark! Overall I think the vitesse was the one I really wanted to take home, just looked spot on, photos don't do it justice. It's real life presence is awesome

Another good day out. Didn't stay as long as I would've liked, cos the kids were 'doing my swede in' but I enjoyed the 4 hours or so we were there. I just love the whole relaxed casual atmosphere about the whole thing. Big thanks to Matt for organising it all. Too many cars stood out to mebtion them all. I also looked hard at the Bugatti rep after it pulled after hearing a familiar engine note Some good work to disgusie the engine but the tell tales are still there. Also noted Triumph small chassis master cylinders/ brackets and the front suspension. Very nicely done overall tho. Put me down for a parking space next year please !

Hi all, just logged on after recovering from yesterdays show. was on my feet from 730am. few beers helped though. thanks for the complements. I did a count at 11am and that 116 cars parked up plus in excess of 100 classic scooters and bikes. in total I had approx 130 cars turn up. That bugatti - is the real deal......apart from the engine and the front suspension. the car was part of a 4 bugatti car collection that were plundered for parts to keep a race bugatti on the road/racing. that bug was sold off missing its engine and suspension. it was rebuilt using some clever fabrication and use of suitable other parts to get it on the road. cheers Matt

Forgot all about this till I logged on to RR yesterday morning. Popped along briefly in the modern and was surprised by the amount and variety of cars there. I will be there next year in the Chamois and will get a few more Imps to join in. It seems that the free classic car events get better cars then the pay to get in ones.
