Been given a type 9 gearbox, which I am getting machined too fit a 1256 engine in a viva but thinking of changing the axle for a capri item as its easier to get an lsd and the drive should all match up with the gearbox.
What do i need to know numbers wise? and depending on numbers which axle is best out of the capri range?
Thanks

It all depends on the engine power TBH personly i'd go for as low a diff as possable or a small engine like that will never pull the 5th gear possably a 1300 diff 4.11? was it ? possably 3.89 ? i think the 2.11 was the cortina 1300 ratio ? Not really sure what you meen by the drive will match up between box and axle TBH all the capri axles are atlas axles only the brake drum size will differ. The 1300 diff is probably rather hard to find cos A they were not very popular and B the drag boys love em
