I agree bmcnut , when you think of all the junk HotWheels do, there's no need for stickers etc. They've got these little key cars in poundland. Why not use them? And then theres the cars that come in Kinder eggs, why not them either? For the price of these advent calendars they've been a bit cheap! Anyway, the grey pick up... I picked it up in Poundstretcher, they're called METAL MACHINES! Ironically they're mostly plastic, but the bases are metal. Clearly HotWheels knock offs, but I kinda liked them. I bought a couple, this coupe also...
Not really high quality, and made up bodystyles that closely resemble actual bodystyles, but I thought they were quite cool.

These arrived in the post today. I had the car transporter myself when a kid so was happy to find the same one on eBay, Only thing with eBay is people are making profit off the postage a lot, so end up paying too much for the car.

That's what puts me off, I see a lot I would buy for the £1 Or £2, but it's normally over a fiver by the time they're delivered.

Hah!! Try living in Ireland. Postage to UK from here is €6 which makes it nigh on impossible to sell on doubles etc. But the UK is also the only place to buy, as the markets here are full of "it's metal so its old so its worth a fortune" types.

Day 13. Another Reindeer! I quite like the idea of eight Reindeers, but atleast they could've all been a bit different! Still, two will pull the Sleigh better than one!

Only thing with eBay is people are making profit off the postage a lot, so end up paying too much for the car. Now steady on. Paypal take 20p+ 3.5% out of whatever amount comes to them. Ebay take 10% at minimum, sometimes more!, from the sale amount AND the postage. Even an unpackaged Matchbox car will be too big a bump in a jiffy bad to go large letter, so it goes small packet. Small packet 2nd class is £2.80. If the customer says they did not get it, you have NO chance of arguing your case with ebay. So you must send it recorded, which is £3.80. So just to clarify, if your seller is offering you postage at anything less than a fiver, they are LOSING money when they post it to you.

The otto is cool but the reindeer are, quite frankley, chronic. I mentioned before about an idea that hotwheels should do 2 calenders. The collectors calenders should have non-fantasy cars only in colourschemes that are unique to the calender. Id buy one.

Also, as I'm moving house, all these spare bodies are in threat of the bin. I don't necessarily want to throw them out, but they're not worth selling, but I'm also not packing them to go with me. So, if they are any use to anyone, I will send them to you, if you make a donation (however small) to one of the Christian charities I support local to me. One takes aid out to the forgotten indigenous people of the Hungary-Romania border who are despised and receive no social care, and the other runs a foodbank and is aiming to give out 300 food hampers to needy people (especially those with children) local to me here. Both have online facilities. And yes, small donations do still help. A food hamper for example can be put together for around £6. That can be the difference between starving and surviving for people in dire straights. Unfortunately the UK's social welfare system is not all it's cracked up to be and you only need to ask how many people froze to death on the streets of our cities last year or the year before to realise that.

I've got to say that I agree with you bmcnut , if they did a calendar for collectors it would be much better, although if they did that you can bet your best leg that it would be hideously over priced! it turns out that Mrs Pistonpopper bought it from TK Maxx and only paid £8 for it, so it's only going to work out £1 for each car, which isn't too bad I guess, although, with the exception of Midnight Otto I don't really care for the cars that are in there, and my feeling is that the Sleigh is one of the cars. Anyway, enough of my whinging, Day 14. Another Sleigh. Just cheaper and bit more crappy! Still, at least those two Reindeers have something to pull now! I think it would've been better if the reins were designed to fit on to the Sleigh that was given away earlier. Still, like the first Sleigh you can clip a car into it... Last year my little girls got me a car to open every day, some were old, and a few were new, but they were each wrapped up separately. They had collected them throughout the year, this Mustang was the box I opened on Christmas day. I don't want to sound ungrateful or anything, but I'm hoping that they go back to this next year.

Yeah been there and loaded up. Also went through my years worth of purchasing......turns out there are a LOT of Hot Wheels, the other haf was quite annoyed at the amount of them.........So i had a sort through and found I had a few duplicates...... 5 x Model A Ford customs (red, blue, orange, green,.....erm and green lol) 4 x VW Golf GTi's (2x yellow, 2x orange) 3 x Copo Camaro's (all different colours) although some are 2017 ones as well I hasten to add.....it was still quite a box full oops They'll be up in the swap shop after crimbo when I've got some time Also discovered I'm still missing number 4/10 from the Hotwheels Track Stars 50th set and have the blue Camaro in metal base but not orange base, and am missing a couple from the other 50th Anniversary set (long card black and gold 6 set). I do have a full set of 50th Zamac's though, which is nice. Anyone know what other 50th Anniversary sets they did?
