Shame to think about all the cars I smashed with a hammer to make them look like they had been in a crash when I was a kid. Tell me about it. My dad used to go off his head when he'd find out I'd been in the garage, blunted or snapped his drills to rag the wheels off one car and jam them in another. Stickers peeled off, Humbrol enamel all over. That sort of stuff.

I have to admit i have a soft spot for the old SIKU models, there's just something about them that i think is better than Hotwheels or Matchbox/Corgi, detail wise.

I stood in the shop pondering buying these, then remembered, I paid more just for wheels recently, so how could I not... Will be opened soon!

Went to Sandown Park today. By far the busiest ive ever seen it, loads of stalls, loads of people, and the most Hotwheels ive ever seen in one place. Quite afew very nice American issue real riders but I wasnt intending to blow my budget on just a couple of cars. Very happy with what I got. Cant not get a 55 chevy, and the colour of the pickup caught my eye. £1 each. My first tresure hunt Chevelle SS and real riders Plymouth satalite, a casting that I havnt got. Paid £8 for the 2. 57 Buick and Hudson hornet. Again, casting I havnt got and £1.50 each. Cant remember what I paid for these. Not much, cant say no to a matt panel van. Paid #cough# for these two, couldnt not buy them. And, car of the day, because I had one parked in the carpark and it was 50p. 50p!! Seriously if this was the only thing id come home with id be happy, quite scarce and are quite expensive when the come up on ebay, it was the first thing I found almost as soon as I walked in the door. The bargains I got today was offset by paying nearly £3 for a can of drink, but I was parched. EDIT and this because ive never seen one, and its fugly as.

I was in Staines with a client today and popped into 'Toy BarnHaus' to say Hi to a friend (the manager) He has a 3 for 2 deal on at the moment and some other great deals too,so I walked away with these and one or two others.😁

So the weather was terrible today and, being the wonderful husband I am, decided to pick my wife up from work. This entailed getting some lunch from our local Tesco (other Supermarkets are available). Obviously being Tesco I had to peruse the selection of Hotwheels in their usual blue bin. This was todays selection i came away with...... pretty pleased with them to be honest. but wait whats with that dark blue Escort??? Doesn't look quite right..... Close ups..... Holy Grail!!! I grabbed it from the top of the box and ran around to show my wife who was, naturally, unimpressed. Even when she could see the sheer unbridled delight on my face and excited like a little kid demeanor she was still pretty non plussed by it all. I have been properly collecting Hotwheels from my local supermarkets for the last 5/6 years with the occasional foray into Poundland or similar stores. Never have i laid eyes on a rubber tyred model (Super Treasure Hunt?). To say I'm delighted is an understatement, and even the wife was happy when i showed her what the going rate on eBay was for it and the normal one together. However I want to keep it obviously although i will be searching hard for another

Only ever found a two super T-hunts in the wild... The most unbelievable was the Plymouth Superbird super treasure hunt found at my local Morrisons. What made it so baffling was that every other car had sold, only two were left, the super t-hunt superbird and the standard (non-t-hunt) version of it, left sitting there together. My wife also shared a similar lack of interest in my kid-at-christmas style reaction to the find... right up until she saw what I sold the pair for on ebay. Kind of wish I'd kept it now, and probably would have done if I hadn't of found it with its standard counterpart

It just proves to me that they do exist in supermarket batches,I was kinda convinced they didn't or that a savvy employee was spotting them as they put them out and snaffling it later. I would love to keep it and maybe frame it lol but the temptation to sell it along with it's matching long card non STH with maybe some of my duplicate RS castrols etc is present. It would pay for a lot of Hotwheels and other models.....

I have yet to find anything like that Escort, what an awesome find! Any idea how much its worth? The only shop local to me that stocked anything reliably interesting (real riders) was the local toy megastore, but now the selection isnt much better that what youd find in tesco, no real riders at all, and not much in the way of '50>70s stuff, so i recon there is either a local clearing the pegs on a daily basis, or they're not getting on the pegs at all.

Did a bit of christmas shopping on ebay. Got sidetracked.... Of all the cars i got last weekend one is standing out as a favourite. Love the colour scheme, the stance, the casting, such a nice looking thing. Looking at it yesterday I notice a name above the number on the door. Dan Gurney. Now, up until that point I thought/assumed the colourschemes on the 2 stockcars I bought were fictional, possibly based on the cars of old. Nope. Sweet.

My finds from the last week or so ... That must be a rare thing. I believe it to be the one-of-one 1967 OSI Silver Fox, built to compete at le Mans (which it didn't) and made with two completely separate hulls like a catamaran. Had a one litre Renault Alpine engine behind the drivers seat and all the ancillaries and spare wheel behind the passenger seat for balance. AFAIK there was only ever one built, which was at the Festival of Speed in 2013 wonder why it never caught on

It wasn't the first car like that 1955 Enrico Nardi Le Mans entry; Called the 'strangest car to race at Le Mans' it was literally blown off the road after 6 laps when lapped by the leaders. Info source an article in this months Classic & Sports Car.Oh and because this is 'Small Torque' Bizarre do a 1:18 scale model of it.

Doing a search on eBay sold listings show that they have sold from anywhere between £37.99 (+p&p) up to £76 on a short card!!! However it looks like selling them with other Escorts seems to work well with standard Escort 50th editions so if i bundled all my duplicates together with it it could see some serious money! don't really want to sell it mind you lol
