Well, bought this on Saturday, had it in the shed today to clean the carb out, genreally tidy up and service. Also removed machine gun carry case and subframe from rear right hand side. Really! It's a 1995 Harley Davidson MT350, they took over the M.O.D contract from Armstrong, a British company that somewhat lives on in CCM. It uses a Rotax 350cc single, there was also a MT500 that had the 500cc, and all Rotax engines from this series bolt straight in, so a 604cc single swap is easy enough. I belive CCM/Aprillia also used this range of engines. It got Ohlins adjustable rear shocks, Marzocchi forks, Grimeca 4 pot calipers front and rear (weirldy massive rear disc have caught me out a few times already!) Has electric start and a left foot kicker ( I am left handed so great for me). Oil in frame, blackout switch, huge front panniers and enough strengthening to allow it to be dropped form a helicopter, many have been appartently. You can still buy them direct from MOD auctions, but there is often sand in the carb, and everywhere else! Going for a rolling restoration on this as it has an MOT, but needs some work!

Saw one of these at Deanshanger classic show on Sunday & loved it (I'll get a photo up tonight as it's still on the camera). Are you leaving the machine gun case off? Had a good look around the one I saw, also noticed the 'dinner plate' of a rear disk as well. ;D

Yeah, It was love at first sight for me too! Life's too short to not make impulse buys!
The machine gun case is quite heavy, and like a sail in the wind, so I will put it back on for shows and special occasions!
I needed to take it off to establish what work needs to be done, it really needs stripping down and the frame repainting.

very nice, I have its slightly older bigger brother (mt500 as you say)... complete with drum brakes!!! seriously!!
Need to chuck it back on the road at some point, but could really do with a least a front disc first!!! 350 stuff is a straight swap, but i cant seem to find one!!

Check out forum.mtridersclub.co.uk/ parts for sale section, orKL Motorsport, or Aphophis parts for new stuff, I think there was a set of MT350 forks on the bay the other day

It was 1300 quid, which is a little bit too much, but love knows no bounds!

Did some more work to the carb and airbox, fitted a 16 tooth front sprocket, now it happily goes off the clock. I reckon it could take a smaller back sprocket now, although I happy cruising speed is now 60mph! Next things to think about are some Renthal bars, and a big round headlight! PS. The clock only goes up to 70mph

Ahhhh....I used to have an MT500.....until some scrote nicked it. Brilliant, rugged commuter bike but the 500 had no electric start......I found the left kicker really awkward and they were buggers to start at the best of times.....I'd still have another though. Really strong bikes built with quality components.
