A bit of help/advise if you don't mind guys. My Toyota 1000 has had the 4K engine swap done and the following done to the engine it has been lightend ,balanced, flywheel has been skimmed, 262 kent cam, comp valve springs, duplex timing chain, ford twin choke weber. What i was thinking about now was a set of bike carbs as i'm not really happy with the single webber and after wandering the yahoo auctions i found this: page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k30265492I know it won't be cheap but i do have a guy that can get parts for me from Japan off the auctions this is however for a KP61 so will it fit ok? Also does anyone else make a good manifold over in the UK? Thanks Simon

Gorgeous set of extractors, they look stunning! Look to have a decent length of primaries, something often overlooked with K-series extractors (ie my ones have primaries that are far, far too short).
I would think the the Weber would be up to the task of your engine specs however. Bike carbs on a reasonably longish manifold would be quite a cool thing to try, just to see if the extra velocity can gain you any torque. Eventually I'm going to have a play with twin IDF's on my 4K, should be interesting.

hey mate, sorry i didnt see your post earlier i would have been able to help! those extractors are good ive got a set before but quite pricey. i get mine now fron finland and the build quality isexellent and so is the fit. if you want i can put you in contact with my guy if you like. as for the carbs I'm running a 4k on a set of CBR900RR carbs and its savage!! ive also a 5k on twin 40 dellortos. the carb you have on now will do, but no doubt the bike carbs or a set of 40's wil help! if you need to know anything at all let me know as i am THEE k series guru lol

I know polleymotorsport do a 4 branch manifold, but have no idea what they're like quality wise. I've heard nothing but good about the ones from finland (freetechnics??) How did you go about fitting the CBR carbs? Did you make up your own inlet manifolds for them? (sorry about the hijack, but it is kind of on topic)

make adapter plates that bolt to the twin weber/dellorto manifold. alternitavely bogg bros will make you a whole new one for 176quid. swap the 115 jets for 135's or so and your sorted ! george polley wanted 500 quid off me for an exhaust and inlet

Sounds good, I've got a twin 40 manifold from trdkp61 off kp61.net, but need a 4 branch to go with it. Managed to get a set of Solex 40's cheap on egay, so it's just the setting up to do now. 500 though??? Their 4 branch exhaust manifolds are only about £150, so that seems stupid!!

well who ever i was talking to in there, said they don't make the exhausts that gu under the car anymore, only the ones that come through the bulkhead, and it would cost me 500 for them to remake it

Ouch! Thanks for letting me know that one, I'll get one ordered from Finland then when I get that far with mine, bit of a shame though, not being able to get one in Britain!

yeah true. you prob know but kent cams still do stuff for them, and a good upgrade is astra GSI valve springs. you can get just about everything for the engines still from different places. my 4k is a little flier and the head on it is standard

Yeah, I'm hoping to get the cam out of my 5k re ground, probably just a mild road one though, as I'll be running hydraulic lifters I've got a cam in a 4k I bought, but have no idea which one! I'd heard rumors about the Astra valve springs, is it just the XE 16v standard ones that fit?
