Paint on, just needs a bit of polishing up in a week or two when it's nice and hard. Pretty pleased with it, but might need to put some silicon bead on as pretty sure paint will crack at the join between splitter and body as it's bound to flex a bit. Next up is some extra vinyl I think

Arty preview of the new look front end, nearly ready for Classic Ford this weekend. Also got it MOT'd but still having ignition issues so going to try a different distributor option.

Another year another RRG, and what a great one it was - thanks as always to everyone for such an amazing show. Better still the Capri actually worked well and I had a smile on my face all day. Thanks to everyone who popped over for a chat, was great to catch up with people. Happy to see the front end is still confusing people as well What's this then? MkI Capri? Note to self.... stop taking photos of cars unless you know what you're looking at Ta EDIT to add pic what by Nick Liassides, on Flickr Best of all, I got to come home with this - Means a huge amount to me to get an award from my favourite show and the forum that has accompanied me and my daft car modding for the last 13 years - the car wouldn't exist without this place. Thank you all the judges, and everyone who's given me some positivity etc. over the years ;D

Was great to finally see this in the flesh. Glad to hear it behaved as well.

Thanks, and it's on a Kent V6T3 currently, so 290deg duration - actually very driveable. When I finally get the triple carb setup done I might look at moving to a T4, but might be a bit peaky for hillclimbs, especially when wet.

Absolutely mega! Just read the thread start to finish. Awesome bit of kit. Would love to get my Maverick to the same state and getting to some hillclimb events. Even looks like a yank Capri a little!
Do you still have those ultralites when you first got the car? I'm thinking wheels like that for mine eventually.

Would love to see a Maverick hillclimbing! Much underrated in my eyes.

But it did seem to be a particularly busy one. Next year! And what do you want to know? I'm now an expert in how not to gap piston rings, that's for sure!

Playing aroubd with some road/shpw wheels. Going proper old school with some big sidewalls on some period 14 rims. They fit hust about perfect, question is what colour to do them, body or a dark silver - Thoughts?

Black / silver refurb ? They look nice as they are. Of your choices dark silver - was body colour a thing when the wheels were in period ? James

James Not so keen on the black and silver, doesn't seem to make these wheel pop like it does on Rostyles etc. Body colour seems to have been on a few yank cars from the factory, and a few NASCARs. Could always go for a different shade of blue, ala Superbird

I'd probably go dark grey, but then I'm not very adventurous with colour!

In true fashion I couldn't decide exactly what colour to go with, so decided to get the road and sprint wheels done in different colours. Et viola! Pretty happy with them, particularly with the way the grey shows the shape of the GT road wheels.
