I'm not sure that is what you need. On the front control arms there are two bushes, the one at £37.75 seems to be the inner bush that bolts the control arm to the front subframe. The inner bush never wears out either.
The bush that the roll bar passes through is not available in poly off the shelf. You can get new standard rubber ones though, they take a lot of effort to remove from the control arms. Some people just replace the control arms as a whole, as new ones normally come with brand new bushes.
People have successfully drilled out the old ARB/control arm bush, made a mold and filled the bush with liquid poly urethane.
One thing I found recently concerning bushes and manual steering racks... Have someone turn the steering wheel whilst you watch, see if the rack stays in place like it's supposed to or if it squirms around and pushes through the rubber steering rack mounting bushes. Mine has started doing this and it's quite scary to see it moving like that, and scary to drive too...

Well it drives aweful, steering wheel shakes like mad at around 40-45, i can move the front wheel from side to side while on the floor ( n I don't mean on the steering!). It looks as though behind the front wheels where the roll bar meets the wishbone, it's just sort of flopping about with no bush to secure it? I'll get a pik after work and show you what I mean ,) Cheers Arron

If buying a complete bush set be careful to check they actually know what bushes you need. I had reacently bought a set from suspension-bushes.co.uk. Very competative prices but unfortunately i was missing a few bits. they sorted it out but it was a bit of a pain in the A*@!

I had a similar movement in a Mondeo I had. Turned out that the trailing arm bushes were near non existent. Your no bush comment makes me wonder if you have any bush left!
I can vouch for Superflex bushes though. Good ride quality whilst keeping the suspension taut, something I have found on similar cars to mine cheaper alternatives not always get right. Yes they are a little pricey but IMO on bushes and suspension in general you do get what you pay for.

i would always pay the extra and go for superflex - good quality and you know they are going to actually fit!

It might be worth seeing if any of the guys on the e21.net forum also need bushes and doing a ''group buy''? Superflex have always been really helpful when I use them. The rubber bush/mounts for the steering rack are not available in the UK in a poly version. I have spoken to Superflex and plan to send them a standard one as a pattern or to compare to any other bush they do, which might suit? In fact, this just jogged my memory to get on the case and chase them up. I imported a set of poly rack bushes from the states but with shipping & tax etc, a $30 ended up costing me nearer $110. I also did what Rob mentions and replaced the arms as a whole, rather than pi55 about trying to insert new bushes. They aren't mega expensive and it's a much simpler job to do. It must be if I can do it.

i bought a new bmw steering rack bush and made a mold to cast these in poly. i made a couple of pairs for other people too. reguarding the arb to lower arm bushes i cast some poly into the bush to stiffen up the standard bush.
