After some fibreglass fenders (well one..) to replace the only rusted part on the new datsun...these guys are so far the only place (and certainly the cheapest) to sell them other than FRPautomotive.com. Has anyone had experiences with the fit/quality/weight/build of their panels? The reviews on the triumph forums go from 'amazing, awesome, need a bit of fitting adjustment' to 'god awful don't touch' so I'm a little bit...lost as to as to whether they're worth considering. I ask as they are seemingly unbelievably cheap compared to most of the other FRP/CF parts I've dealt with for the Datsun, and as yet I haven't been able to track down a manufacturer in North America www.honeybournemouldings.co.uk/So if you have experience/own one of their parts, please let me know

Never used their kit but I only work about 1/2 mile away and their unit is next to the garage which services our company cars. It's small but busy and looking through some old classic car mags from the late 80s and early 90s they've been going since then, so to have survived that long I don't think they can be all that bad. If they're really cheap then probably worth a punt.
That said, I think it's rare to come across a fibreglass panel that doesn't need fettling?!!! As an aside, I used to work for a performance car mag and back in the day an advertiser used to sell about 40 replicas of a manufacturer's bodykit a week. On the rare occasions it didn't fit it wasn't because the kit was bent, it was because the car that it was going on was...

The reviews on the triumph forums go from 'amazing, awesome, need a bit of fitting adjustment' to 'god awful don't touch' ... Having owned several Triumphs in the past, I'd say that they sound like accurate replacement parts! ;D No first hand experience, but I would say that if their product was useless, they're unlikely to still be in business after 32 years.

Ha ha, so true of Triuph panel gaps. I recently bought a centre rear valance from them for my Vitesse. Quick turn around, easy to deal with 'normal' people from my experience. Don't expect the panels to be a perfect replacement for stock items, they are fibrglass repros after all That said, I was very impressed with the quality for the price. If I knew how thick they made them, I'd have asked for half the amount of glass in my valance to save weight. No fear of it breaking/cracking imo

IIRC they had a BIG fire about 9/10 years ago and lost a lot of their original moulds. I had no dealings with them but V8devon has, to the extent that I believe they used one or two of his motors to make new moulds from. Nice people to do business with, from all accounts.

It's for this reason that they no longer do Herald/Vitesse front ends

Awesome info RR, MrSpeedy - how thick is the valance? Is it jsut a hand laid up piece with gelcoat? Given the price I can't assume they vacuum bag anything.

A friend on the DAF forum has some honeybourne front wings on their DAF. Apparently they needed a little trimming and the paint codes come up slightly different on them

That seems like a long time ago when we did that they just needed another coat of paint on the dull it down a bit, I have put those wings on 2 Dafs and have a set for my Daf classic modified as well, Also had there Viva wings twice a herald hard top and valances as well as a set of fd victor wings for the pick up.
over all they are good to deal with and the panels fit as well as can be expected and I have had to adjust steel wings as much to make them fit so go for it.

I assume hand laid, but the thickness was twice what I was expecting/hoping for (car's on a diet ) I should say about 3/16"

Ive had an mgb sebring kit from them, rear wings spot on, fronts are going to take alot of work fit wise, but seems this is the case with any supplier. The guys are nice enough and very reasonable price wise oh and pay cash if your collecting and get a discount if you know what i mean ;-)

I've bought a Sebring front Valance, and MGC bonnet from them in GRP, and they needed no more fettling/adjusting than any other replacement panel! Spot on service, really well packed etc...I'd go for it!
