Hi guys,
I went and picked up a car for my friend yesterday in my '88 VW LT40 with a 2.5td. Driving there was fine, but after about 10 miles of collecting the car when you get to approx. 50mph the truck would jolt forward and backwards like it was kangarooing, but not as much. Pulled over and checked a few things like oil, belts, etc. but nothing was wrong. Carried on and it was the same. Going up hills though, we was having to drop to 40mph or it was doing the same.
When I dropped the car off I headed home again on the motorway. For a few miles it was as above, but about 5 miles from home I couldn't go more than 40mph anywhere. While accelerating on normal roads when the engine got to a certain RPM (can't tell you what, don't have a tacho) it was jolting the same.
My thoughts are the fuel filter is full of curse word and needs changing or one or more of the injectors has some curse word in it.
Does this sound correct or should I be looking else where?
