i'm going to put my daily on air - i understand the basic theory behind it with physically plumbing it up, line sizes and valves etc. however i don't want to go off the shelf (no one does a kit for my car anyway) and i can't afford to pay a pro company to do it - fab work etc isn't a prob.
anyway - to the point! - i'd very much appreciate any help from people who have it/install it/understand more about it with regards to working out what size bags i would need and what heights etc to run the bags to get a decent spring rate and ride.
can anyone help?

Rears should be easy, separate springs and shocks iirc? The fronts could be expensive if it's struts as you need the shock to run through the bags.
I have a w123 Merc coupe and the bags are 2200lb firestone bags with about 6" between collapsed and fully extended but this is amplified be the wishbones remember.
Have a look on tru-rydaz.co.uk uklows.com and layitlow.com which is a really good US forum and very good for tech and advice.
Hope that helps a bit.

very helpful thanks, yeah rears are seperate shocks and springs so fabbing a mount for the bag 'should' be simple, fronts will have to be doughnuts but hopefully will be able to use the calibra strut and just put a mount onto it as if i was coilover converting, then run proper topmounts instead of the rubber standards. i will sign up on those forums ta!

Ambulances can be a source of cheap air parts, probably a bit H/D for you but worth keeping in mind maybe ?

this is definitely why I'm asking! never know where things might come from. ive been reading up on converting air con pumps utilising 4x4/luxury standard equip stuff, all sorts.
registered on those forums cairyhunt - some reading to do on those ta again.
