I'm away on holiday in Austria, having a great time and got a few retro spot photos (1936 Lancia) I will post when I get back. BUT I got a horrible call on wednesday morning, a muppet in a lorry, which was delivering milk products to the corner shop forgot to close the rear door properly. He drove past my daily, door swung open and hit the rear of the car. He stopped, closed the door and drove off!!! Well anyway, my neighbour saw him, got the details from the corner shop and I got the insurance lawyers (legal protection, phew!!!) involved. The question is, I've been sent the pictures and it looks pretty bad. Any opinions? Looks like the rear pillar will have to be replaced? Is it possible? Don't fancy a car full of bondo... its only 5 months old Anyway, here are the photos: And turns out the Lancia I saw was a 1936 Aprilia

looks nasty mate as far as insurance would be conserned your will probably be a wright off at around cat c-d as its pulled the quarter out and pulled the roof down by the looks of it plus the tail gate damage and rear screen though due to its age they may repair it but you are going to need to be a very fussy customer if you don't want it full of filler main stealers will not do a very good job under the skin . could be repaired fairly easily but it will need jigging and a rear quarter . thats going by what I can see

Thanks Nightmares. That's kind of what I thought regarding Skoda. I will try to see if I can get a couple bodyshops that I know can weld and do restoration work too to work on it(rather than a monkey with a bucket of bondo and a shovel )

Easy repair Needs a quarter which IIRC come with the inner section right up to the flange the boot rubber sits on. Wouldn't like to straighten it and fill it, bit too far gone for that. If it's only 5 months old it won't be anywhere near a write off, and it won't need jigging either, wrong sort of damage for that. Oh yeah, I've done this for a living for the last 22 years, I'm a Senior ATA technician with BMW working to PAS125 standards Trouble is, repairs to manufacturer approved methods are NOT the same in Europe. UK repairers work to much higher standards than the rest of Europe. Just be ultra fussy and go to a manufacturer approved bodyshop and you shouldn't have any problem

it may be worth sticking this in the BRISKODA.net forum, they may be able to point you in the direction of a Greek garage worth taking it to
