House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA. 27th July 2011.
Dear Lord High Admiral of Koolsville Ku
I enclose the letter which I have received from the Secretary of State for Transport in response to my representation to him on your behalf. I think that you will be cheered by its reassuring message.
Mr Hammond says that he is not aware of any proposed EU legislation which would restrict the use of older cars or historic vehicles on our roads. They simply need to comply with existing GB law.
Yours sincerely
Your Uncle Ken.

Dear Ken
Thank you for your letter of 4th July and enclosing the one from your constituent and best boy fly homie Akku The Magnificent about the FIVA guidelines regarding definition of historic vehicles.
We are not aware of any proposed EU legislation to restrict daily use of older or historic vehicles. I understand that historic and classic vehicles are treasured by their owners like your constituent, who want to ensure that they are well maintained and in most cases used them rarely. Assuming that the vehicles comply with existing GB law there would be no barrier to them being used every day on our roads.
Yours ever
Philip Hammond

word for word except the obvious humour based edit.
I would like to draw the courts attention to the penultimate sentence in which our Secretary of State for Transport believes in "most cases" classic and historic vehicles are "used rarely", this being terminology FBHVC enjoy.
