Hi Bortaf!
Yeah I did read it but I had an inside contact who said he could get the 24v one for me. I was very happy with this news indeed. he gave me a price, £140 with his discount and I thought that sounds about the right price for the 24v pump. It turned up today and low and behold its the 12v pump! DOH!!!!
I unfortunately I don’t have a press so cant do it myself. I've had a look at the other idea of modifying it but I would rather just replace like for like so its looking like I’ll need to get someone to press out the old bearing and seal and put a new one in. There is a chap on the Scorpio forum who can do this for me I think. Just trying to get hold of him. Nothing like cutting it fine, not long till RR gathering!

the BOB is a pain for the water pump ive heard of a couple of people on fordpower who get new 12v pumps and swap the main parts into their 24v housings that bypass hose, if its the same as the BOA one, is available in silicone from samco ;D just make sure the hole through the head it goes in hasnt got any nasty suprises to rip the new hose apart on installation

I believe my friends contact at ford has managed to find me a brand new 24v pump. He’s even sent a pick to confirm and it all looks about right to me. Things are looking up for RR gathering after all. ;D ;D Got the hose from Ford as well, £17 not too bad as I have been told it can cost up to £40. I’m definitely agreeing with you, I’ll check the hole for clearance etc as I don’t want this one to perish as well as it’s a right pain to replace. I’m thinking about wrapping the hose in some exhaust insulation tape to protect it against the heat from the head and an other potential hose damaging sharp areas. Was trying to take the old water pump off of the car yesterday but left the decent tool set in the Mrs’s car. Had a go with a mickey mouse set I have and it split the ratchet!! Cheap cracker like tools for you! These job should be completed by the end of the week hopefully so then its Tax & Test!! Keep your fingers crossed for me please!
