On the road, limited leg room, bouncy ride and very slow, better than an SJ not as good a Vitara. Off the road, limited leg room, bouncy ride, very slow (who cares?) similar to an SJ but wider which can occasionally make a difference, better than a Vitara off road. Suzukis are easier to get parts for to improve the offroad ability than the Ladas, personally I think the Ladas look better, but i'm to lanky to be comfy in them while I can fit in the smaller SJ just fine. Probably not worth much if you sell it as an offroad toy so don't over spend on it, worth more as a workhorse or to a Lada fan so probably best left standard and just tidied up if your in it for the cash. trust you to get all sensable on me yeah 6 Ft4 and 19 stone don't actually slide in there all that easy ;D the 3 discs gone in me back don't help much either Looks like another clean up and sell job i spose, trouble is i've been doing this since i was like 16 and i've allways wanted to keep em all, i just have this "thing" for sheds, probably cos i'm a shed meself

i think they have a good approach/depart angle, and also quite a good axle twist rating? i forget the proper term but that translates into good off road.
for that money, it's a toy you can afford to play with, i'm pretty sure there's a lot you can with homwbrew diy mods.
keep it for a bit, you'll have no difficulty selling it

As standard, better rear departure angle than a RR but otherwise pretty much the same due to similar axle set ups and length/width ratio, lack of power can screw you up in the mud or the water or when trying to recover other vehicles, but its lighter weight means it sinks less. As said though, cheap enough and strong enough to use as an offroader without caring to much what you throw at it, cheap offroaders can be bought cheap though, three or four hundred quid will get you something useable so don't bank on it being a huge money maker.

Never do mate i'm usually happy to make some pocket money and get to where they will be used, don't think i've made more than a ton or so on a shed, i'll clean it up get it all working and see what i can get on it

I think later Nivas have the option of the PSA 1.9 diesel.

Good machines and pretty good off road. The factory off road racers where impressive and fast. One major design flaw is on rhd cars the most noise in the cabin is roughly where the drivers head is. I remember driving an over laden on with broken bonnet catch rather rapidly from Auckland to Wellington. Suspension was on bump stops and broken bonnet catch meant bonnet would lift as speed increased.
