So as it's become clear I won't be returning to the UK to live, and am making my move to Canada a bit more permanent I've decided to sell my Z located in the UK (located near Bedford) and thought it best, in the spirit of RR to offer it here first. The car as I bought it with blinkers on, it cost £3000, I am not looking to get anything like that back, meerly to sell on what in theory is a potentially awesome and very hard to find project to get it out of the hair of the chap who is storing it for me.
This is not a project for those who cannot weld/are unconfident in their welding abilities I cannot make this clear enough. Please no time wasters or 'do it for cheaper' this is a VERY clean, rust free good shell that has already been bead blasted, sprayed in zinc primer with almost every spare panel needed to fix it.
The car is a LHD shell, it has the proper documentation, receipts and 'declaration of salvage' from California, USA to get it registered in the UK as well as the forms required to do that. I am happy to supply photos of the restoration unpublished on the build thread to aid the future owner in getting it UK registered.
It is a rolling shell, it has all the original front and rear suspension units/subframes, original brakes, master brake cylinder. There is no engine, engine ancillaries or gearbox to speak of, the original was seized and the cylinder walls scoured horribly. It should have an L24 engine, but an L26 or L28 will fit/plumb in no problem.
The car will come with.
All of these parts bar the roof are brand new steel and their sum total if I were to split them and put them on ebay is considerable! New floors as of today are £320 a pair.
Also coming with the car are the following:
The car does NOT have any of the following, all of these parts are missing:
Tail lights - I'd suggest purchasing US 'red' ones and fitting amber bulbs as the UK spec ones are astronomically impossible/expensive to find, there is a pair on UK ebay at the moment for £400.
Front seats
Interior panels, inclusive of all plastic trim panels, door panels.
Interior trim
Running lights
Dashboard
Seat rails
Heater
Heater blower fan
Aerial (unsure on this last part).
Bonnet
Bootlid
Door glass and mechanisms - easy to find/get hold of the the zclub.net classifieds.
Brake lines
Drivers side inner fender - easily fabbed up relatively easily with sheet sheet, as the panels are NLA from anywhere short of scrapping another Z.
I CAN supply the full rubber seal set as supplied by Dragon Z auto, full bushings
There are other parts featured on my build thread but I would have to negotiate for them separately if the purchaser wanted them given their total comes to several thousand pounds and are nigh on impossible to get hold of in the UK without outrageous import duty. This is included but not limited to...lexan windows for the whole car, bushings sets, headlamp covers, brake pads, brake rebuild kits, carbon fibre bonnet/boot, new springs, new Tokico dampers (all 4 corners).
The jig the car is on presently is not mine, it's Malcolms but I suspect he'd happily sell it/rent it to whoever takes the shell so long as it's returned to him after.
The roof is the main issue, it requires the new one welding on, and welding on straight, to do this, the driver side (LHS) requires the rear quarter panel fixing/potentially replacing.
I am looking for between the £8-900 mark for what is listed here, the steel coming with the car is worth more than that alone. I'm not willing to sell to someone who intends to scrap the car, I can do that myself and make triple my money, even with the cost of a flight back to the UK to sort it out.
For those genuinely interested, read though my build thread for photos. It truly is for the brave, would make an incredible and hard to find car when done.
I am MORE than happy to direct people to parts sources/help with shipping of parts located in North America.
If there is no interest, after a few weeks would someone from the Area52 crowd send me a message if they're interested?

The car will come with.
- Replacement 'Zedd finnings' floors - imported from Canada at great expense.
- Replacement sill for the side that needs replacing.
- Replacement doglegs for both sites
- Replacement boot slam panel
- Replacement 'Bad Dog' frame rails again imported from the USA - considerably stiffer, thicker than the originals - original replacements are also included.
- Replacement roof with sunroof - although original roof can be used to reskin this to delete the sunroof.
All of these parts bar the roof are brand new steel and their sum total if I were to split them and put them on ebay is considerable! New floors as of today are £320 a pair.
Also coming with the car are the following:
- Original key (singular!)
- Original gauges
- Original steering wheel, column and rack.
- Original hand brake, hand brake cables.
- Original headlights, headlight holders, all front lights I.e. indicator lights.
- Original wiper motor and mechanism
- All original switch gear, interior heater panel, some heater tubes/demister tubes.
- Original doors - both are perfect, no rust or pinholes.
- Original door mechanisms, levers, handles, locks for whole car.
- Loom is complete but would need some serious love and attention.
- Original Grill.
- Replacement fibreglass front wings/headlight buckets - they're tatty but would clean up fine, considerable weight saving on the originals, and are the single most prone to rust items on 240/260/280's.
- Original front valance/corner panels of valance.
- Original windscreen, original rear screen,
- Sun visors, mounts, rear view mirror.
- New (as on 2 years ago battery) - would need charge, new DI I presume.
- Petrol filler flap.
- Rear differential, halfshafts, propshaft
