I am now at the stage of fitting my new cam to the 5.0 chevy. I have a question about the timing though. Setting the cam to the crank is simple enough as there are timing marks there, but is there a procedure for installing the cam gear to the dizzy drive gear? Should it align in a certain direction or something?
Ideally if anyone knows of an online guide it may help matters...

I saw that earlier but it brushes over that too. Crazy really cos if you get it wrong the full cam would need to come back out to realign it. No other help vids either on the tube, at least that I have found. Looks like it will be trial and error which when u consider the engine needs run over 2k on first start is a fairly frustrating idea.
Might go to a Chevy dealer for a giggle and see if the can help.

So is your question is how to fit the dizzy afterwards or actually changing the gear on the dizzy?

Neither. My question is what direction should the gear notch face once the cam goes in to location.
