I spotted this on Saturday at Bug Jam and to say it stopped me in my tracks is an understatement. Now it's not like a ratty Karmann Ghia is an unusual sight at these shows (a not dis-similar one can be seen in the photos) nor is it unusual to see one riding low, although granted possibly not that low.
So what is it that makes it so special? What makes this Ghia different from the dozens of ratty Ghia's seen all over the country every summer? Well, honestly, I don't think there is a clear cut answer, just a combination of the perfect parts with just the right amounts of patina and character.
There was a lot of cars I would happily own at Bug Jam this year, but if I had to pick I would have happily have been infected with the Zombie virus.
I've heard that Rat-Look is dead. Well if that's the case, then this must be the living dead.
More Bug Jam pictures here. More to be added soon.
