My Zetec is doing my head in !!!!!!!
I've lost count of how many times I've han it in and out again ( and Stripped right down) !!
On tick over and on partial throttle (parked up and under load ) it has a very slight miss-fire on no. (I think) 4 .
I've had the head off, lapped the valves, had a head specialist give it a visual check and given it the all clear(twice), I've changed the bottom end, fitted 2 new head gaskets in the process, done a compression test on all pots which are at about 130 PSI, swopped no. 1 and no. 4 Injectors around, and swopped no.1 and no.4's HT leads - Yet still I have a miss fire on No.4
The piston top looks slightly wet/shiny through the spark plug hole, and after sticking a cotton bud down there to take a sample it seems to smell more oily rather than of petrol, Yet it doesn't seem to be burning oil ?
What could cause the oil to get on top of the piston ??
