:-/This week i have got off my ass and taken the engine out of my escort it is now just a big mess in my garage. My plans are; new cam (i now have 4!), twin choke weber, light head porting, steel rocker gear, steel front pulley, generally check and clean everything. This is my first atempt at building an engine and so far its quite good fun!! Wish me luck!! While the escort is off the road this is my daily transport mainly because i am too lazy to actually walk anywhere!!! ;D ;D ;D Guy

You have a quite a clean and organised garage. My one looks like a Blue Peter 'bring and buy' storage facility. With huge spiders.
Tidy workspace - tidy mind etc.

This is my first atempt at building an engine and so far its quite good fun!! Wish me luck!! Well rather than wish you luck - Clean your garage - Arrange all the parts - Clean all the bits before assembly - Use a decent quality assembly lube - buy a torque wrench it'll work out just fine

please tell me that the purple skateboard (and i use the term in its broadest sense) belongs to your 13 year old daughter. ;D I'm impressed with the garage tidyness, you can actually see some of the floor.

Being tidy, organised, and having all the right tools, parts etc pays off big style. I have spent years scratting about fixing stuff the hardest way poss. Good luck with the build, I have yet to attempt such task!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Good work mate! Keep it clean and tidy, that's one of the keys to building an engine. please tell me that the purple skateboard (and i use the term in its broadest sense) belongs to your 13 year old daughter. ;D Ha ha, I have the "GTi" type version of that one, with luminous grip tape and a picture of "SK8 Dog" underneath. Retro! (I hasten to add I use a better Santa Cruz deck nowadays though!)

Wanna buy a skateboard? Cost me £90 all in, tried to teach myself, shattered my ankle fairly badly, 10 weeks in cast, not bothered since. Yours for £10 Can't help with the garage though I'm afraid!
