Does anyone know of a kit or a way of fixing a split vinyl seat? I've tried the infernal-net with no luck and it needs to be fixed before my boy plucks anymore of it out If not is there any specialists in my neck of the woods (surrey) who fix these things I don't want to fit a set of curse word seat covers,as 'er indoors has suggested.I need to keep these proper seventies sofas. And yes black vinyl does burn you in this heat-Big style

You mean to say that a genuine set of fake Sheepskin covers, a la 70s style, doesnt appeal to you?! Good God man!

Someone used to make a kit which I saw advertised in Practical Classics or a similar mag ages ago. Endless googling and phoning 'round hasn't got me far though, I can't find one of these kits anywhere.
Personally I am now after some sheepskin or tiger-print seat covers! ;D

naaah T3 pedals are the same style as beetle, out of the floor. Dash is wrong also, and T3 seats are pretty much the same as three-runner beetles. Anyhow. My Haynes Car Body Repair Manual has a section on interior trim repair. It covers cloth stuff but then goes on to say "The far more common Vinyl trim can be repaired using specialist vinyl adhesive.....". I'm sure plastics seats were more common in the 18th century when this book was written For large splits like yours (oo-err) it recommends unhooking the seat cover, sticking a patch over the inside, put the cover back on so it has pressure from behind then lift either side of the flap, rough it up with sandpaper, and stick it down to the patch you just put on. Some tape across the gash should bring it together whilst the glue sets. Hehehe. I said "Split", "Flap" and "Gash"
