I rang them and they said they had stoped production of that model. May have started again. Going to buy the one off here though. I've ordered a mk1 golf cl splitter to try that and see where that takes me. I really want the metal part lower aswell though. That will be a winter job I recon. Would be good if we could get all the vivas together on a stand at RR. Come find me as I'm useless of going upto people I don't know to talk to them.

Been on a bit of a spending spree in last week. First off some genuine wiper rubbers ive been searching for ages for. got them from Sweden in the end; Found a genuine HB mountey steering wheel rather than my bodged Manta one; Then also bought a mk1 golf splitter, its the right size but not long enough and a bit of the wrong shape so I'm gona have to make something and that will fit but same shape as the mk1 splitter or may just modify the golf one; And finally my best bit, over riders that i have been hunting for ages. when I get them there gone straight on to see what they look like; Now just need to a small rev counter that will look nice and cover a dodgy bit up on the dash.

did you see the old period style rev counter i fitted under the dash on my hb? Just there when i need it but not sticking out like a big sore thumb (or a big gay rev counter with a big gay shift light..)

Yes I did, I want a small black one to for on the top right of the dash. In a pod to cover up a cracked dash!

so killing two birds with one stone. I'm lucky my dash has not cracked... yet. I must make a cover for it before it sits out in the harsh sun here. It has faded badly though.

So i attempted lengthening the splitter, tbh not happy at all with it, really hard to get straight and also when i bolted it up, as teh front panel isnt really straight it has pulled it up and made it look a bit cack. gona have to redo it on the car to give it the illusion it is straight. any way; Full splitter: Cut in half: Metal added: Filler: Primer: Fitted: Now what does everyone think, bare in midn the plate is on the curse word anyway. Plate or no plate? Plate: No plate: Also over the past few weeks its had a bit of highlights in the magazines and a paper. TV: Classic Car Weekly: Retro cars: Got to get it all looking nice for next week as have a photo shoot with it.

Saw your inclusion on retro cars, made me even more annoyed I missed seeing it at reading.
I can't make my mind up on the splitter. In one way it looks great, in another it looks a bit funny as it's wavy. If you can sort that it'll be spot on, and I'll be watching with interest. Looks better with the rectangular plate as it bridges the gap.

will be sorting it out next week so its straight, will be wonky if you took it off but will be right on the car so going to do it on the car and then that will make it look alot better. Also made the first steps into making it even lower with the assistance of a air compressor!

;D You're a brave man. Incidentally what have you done exhaust wise so you can go that low?

it goes over the gear box mount and is tucked in as near to the floor as possible. only has one box but will have a full stainless system with 1 box tucked up further for the air ride.

That's what I need. I'm still thinking about trying it myself, but I'd need to learn to weld, buy a cheap pipe bender and the result would be a poorly bent and welded pipe. Would probably still be better than the current system though. I'd also have to get another downpipe and alter it, or make a new one, and I'm not too confident about that either.

That's what I payed to Powerflow for a downpipe-back system, but it hangs several inches off the body in some places and scrapes on everything. Might be different on an HB but my downpipe ends below the g'box crossmember and is pretty low itself, so really I need a new one that stops further up to route the exhaust over the crossmember.
