'95 106 5dr 1.5d? Not retro. Rallye without dodgy kit/17s? Just about retro.

Datsuncherry of this parish used to have a very nice Mk1 106 Rallye. Dunno if he still has it. Fantastic little thing! Retro? I'd say so, though more for its heritage than its age. For me I've always thought of the 106 as a sort of smaller 205, a perfect example of the best in French small car design.

Not really inspired TBH. Not sure if Racer86 sold his but that one looked alright.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I think they'll be there one day, but it's a way into the future yet. I like the fact they're stripped out almost as standard, nice and light and they seem quite happy to take a whole bunch of engines - but they're just too new and commonly seen in college carparks.

I won't be there when you cross the road, so always use the Green Cross Code.

This sums the car up perfectly.
I still got one, but a later S2 1997 one - one of 500 imported - always in blue or white in the UK. The S1 shape, usually seen in white, black or red had a UK run of 1500. Once they've been past the barried stage - lexus rear lights, 18" rims and interior full of McDonalds packaging then, I think its time will be near. I think the rest of the range (especially the 5 door diesels) will slowly dwindle into oblivion like its AX, Visa and Simca 1000 cousins.
As a rule though most Rallye/XSi owners do tend to keep their cars exteriors fairly standard. File under Retro-rides 2011 for the S1.

At the moment no , but with in the next 5-10 years i think the little rallye's & gti's will possibly get a cult status as they do handle and look good (see 205 gti &rallye) so if it remains like this or but as i fear most will end up then i'm afraid no, unless you fancy pulling off several tonnes of plastic? or alternitavely like this as they are a little tail happy
