Not sure exactly how big my area is, but I can comfortably get 6 cars in there with lots of room to spare.
My electricity tends to be somewhere around £400 to £500 per quarter but then I do have the 3 phase 2 post lift as well as lots of strip lights. I'm not there much but then all hell breaks loose monthly on play weekends when an average of 15 guys are there with the ramp going up & down all weekend, compressor going, grinders, welder etc...all being used a lot. Plus kettle, fridges and lights on until 3 or 4am etc... It all adds up.
Not at sure how comparable that would be for you? It certainly can be expensive.

Not really an easy one to answer, for anyone, even if they have the same sized space.
Its all down to your usage, whether your lighting is "low" energy, how much you need to leave on overnight.

I do probably on average 4 full days week (averaged out over part time studenthood) professional use of a small workshop maybe 6 cars with working space maybe more
Compressor grinders and welder runs most of the time I’m there, 10 double strip lamps on most of the time 3 phase used occasionally for tig space heater going over winter.. I have a two post ramp but I don’t use it
I pay around £2-300 a year..

The Internet, like all tools, if used improperly, can make a complete bo**cks of even the simplest jobs...

Thanks for the replies guys.
There is a lot of variation there.
Our space is only good for 3 cars and working area - so hopefully we'll be at the lower end of the scale.
