ne help,maybe my VW transporter crew cab running Ford 2.8i v6 has a running problem,can anyone help the 2.8i motor isn't behaving as it should when it gets warm - say 15-20 mins driving - the engine revs increase.....and increase....and increase.... until its revving its knackers off,is there any sensors/solenoids/ecu's that control engine RPM against engne temp ? haven't worked on a V6 before only crossflow & pinto carb motors and for the last 15 years VW aircooled motors,so I'm real stuck thanks

Hmm, the idle air control valve could be knackered. Or the warm-up regulator? Or the thermo-time switch.... I can't recall what fuel system the Cologne V6 runs... K-Jet I'm guessing

2.8 V6 runs K-Jetronic MFi and the 2.9 V6 runs full Efi.
Very important to make sure what you have before asking for diagnoses.
Rising revs might Warm Up Reg (WUR) or idle control valve as mentioned.

Yeah some pics of your wedge would be great. The WUR / idle air valve are easy to replace. You could test the idle air valve by disconnecting the hose when it's warm and over-revving to see if it dies down after that. The WUR should be easy to test with a multimeter but I'm not too hot on electrics so I won't go any further!

cool cheers all for the advice,its deffo a 2.8 mech injection (bit like the old Golf system) and not the 2.9efi you guys are saying same as the peeps on NSRA message board,so I'm on a winner ;D I reakon cheers again
