I need to rewire my front spots lights as it is to bright at night time and i have now been haunted by the law cause of it ;D. The item in question is my 2000 MK5 Ford Transit camper The camper lights are like this dip and high on the one blub and park on its own I want the two yellow lamps as fog but only to work on a switch on the dash but only want then on when i turn on the lights on how do i do this? The roof lights have shorted the relay i think one relay wasn't up to job how do i wire in two relays so they work when i turn on my high beam and what fuse do i need and relay the lamps are H3 bulbs and there is 4 of them this are the lights Thanks Tom

Fog lights, fairly easy. Depending on which lights you want them to come on with (I'd suggest the sidelights) tap off the appropriate wire that feeds the light- on the sidelights the wire that isn't solid black- and connect it to terminal 86 on the relay. Run terminal 85 up into the dash and into a switch, and ground the other side of the switch by attaching it to a screw on the body. Take a heavier gauge wire from the battery, through a ten amp fuse to terminal 30 on the relay. Connect terminal 87 to the foglights.
Just remember that you must have the front fog lights on before you turn on the rear ones. Strange law!
For the top spots, that is fairly easy too. A single, good 30 amp relay should do the trick. Rule of thumb for 55W H3 bulbs is a 5A fuse per bulb. If you want to run them seperately then that's good, but note that you might want to do them as an inner and outer pair. That way if a fuse blows then you still have symmetrical lights.
Take a feed off the high beam wire on one of the headlights. Fit a 3 Amp fuse to it in line. Screw another wire to ground on the body. Split it to two wires and fit each to each 85 terminal. Split it into two wires, and fit each one to terminal 86 on each relay. Run another pair of wires from the battery + side. Fit each with a ten amp fuse. Fit each to terminal 30. Take the 87 terminals, one to the outer pair, one to the inner pair of top spots. Be sure to use wire rated at least 25 Amps to each pair, that way it'll be well within spec over that sort of distance.
Hope that makes sense

By the way, I love these. They make putting fuses in easy, and when I found them last they were only about two quid more expensive than a normal relay. One label does all! --Phil

Halfords still do them but there like €11 or there about Wow. I move away for four years and they ramp the prices up on everything. I had a look about, seems like the other places I'd seen them have disappeared. Might as well do 'em separate the old way then --Phil
