My indicators have started to play up. When indicating left the lights work fine, however telltail lights up as if hazards are on. When turning right, lights go double speed and telltail lights up like hazards are on.
Been around car and checked all cluster earthing points, everything is still the same, where do i try next?

Double check all your earths. It does sound like an earth problem. Clean all the contacts up with some wet and dry and see what its like then

Took all lights out cleaned connectors, double checked for anymore earths and still the same.

could be a duff hazard switch... all the contacts meet there.
edit I'm assuming (and hoping) that the multipla isn't CANBUS.....

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in |

have you checked the fuses? whether the correct wattage bulbs are in it?

Yeah it seems inevitable, my google-fu is weak on this one as i cba to trawl through 4 pages of total electrical meltdown to find what the issue could be!! At least the weak gearbox issue is sorted for now! Hazard switches seem to be a constant supply of issues, but then so does the rest of anything with wires going into it on these motors. Think i'll admit defeat and purchase a haynes manual and go through the wiring etc to see what i should be getting and where, then take it from there. |

Somone hasn't used an LED on one unit have they? they cause fast flash and faults to show up on the bulb out display ?

Both the hazards and indicators work, its just rh side goes too fast even though all 3 bulbs work. Also when indicating both telltales light on dash. I've had all bulbs out and cleaned so i probably would of noticed an led in the mix.

are you sure one of them isn't a lower wattage?
when i changed to bike indicators on my golf, they were 12W, and both flashed very quickly. when i changed them to 25W, they falshed as before

I've rechecked and i didn't notice that the RH rear bulb is a 12w not a 21w, doh.

That would do the fast flash but cant see why it would light up both tell tales.
Did it fix it?

No its still lighting up both tell tales, reading up on it looks as if it'll be fine for MOT and if so i'll leave it be as everything else now works fine!

Sadly there is no Haynes manual for the Multipla  Out of interest what year is yours? Mine only has one indicator light on the dash (51 plate). |

Mines a 2000 reg, does yours look like 2 seperate arrows but both illuminate off 1 bulb/led?

Why can't they be like normal cars? i'm looking at a problem that isn't there. If it wasn't so practical it wouldn't be here long.
