Dear Mr Hotsexypants Constituent
I am sorry that I am so late in replying to the email that you sent me a few weeks ago. I am afraid that hundreds of emails are sent to me at the House of Commons and my staff sometimes find it difficult to keep up with them all.
I am rather surprised to see that you think that a FIVA presentation to the European Parliament is likely to have the legal effects on the use of historic vehicles which you fear. I have, however taken this up with the Department for Transport to see whether they are contemplating any changes and I will write to you again when I receive a response.
Yours sincerely
K. Clarke

FWIW, this letter and the envelope were actually TYPED on a real TYPEWRITER (or a jolly good fake of one!)
At least he reads his mail.
I'll report back what the man has to say.
I somehow think all our elected representatives miss the point about *modified* historic vehicles.
