Heart-breaking sale of my father's much cherished and much loved 1962 MGB Roadster which he has owned for years:
The car is Old English White with a Navy Mohair Hood (new) and a matching Blue Leather Interior and carpets.
My father has owned this car for many years and has kept it as long as possible. Howeve he now finds himself at 72 years young and simply due to the worsening of his Parkinson's disease plus a recent knee replacement op he is now having difficulty in getting in and out of the car hence the sale - which is a decision he has not taken lightly nor particularly well.
The car is in genuinely excellent condition throughout having had over £16,000 spent on a thorough bare-shell restoration with a well-known MG specialists. It is in exceptional condition - It is to be described as nothing short of EXCELLENT as the photos demonstrate.
Being a 1962 pull-handle model it is one of the first MGB's. The original engine was fully rebuilt with hardened valve seats suitable for unleaded fuel. It has a Stainless Steel exhaust, Moto Lita steering wheel and original painted wire wheels. He has also recently replaced the 2 x 6v batteries (12v).
The car has NEVER seen rain or damp roads since the re-build. It is fully garaged over winter and kept covered along with his other classic car. As you might expect there is absolutely no rust on this vehicle .
The car has 1 years MOT (clearly never fails to pass each year) and is obviously tax exempt.
It drives and performs exactly as it should and has been maintained with no expense spared.
My father has been a member of the MGOC since I was a boy and has been a life long petrol-head and car enthusiast.
