	I know it isnt really that old and not really that retro, but i figured theres sure to be someone on here that can help! The wifes tig has been running fine, then on sunday I decided to move it off the drive, so i could do some work on my car. Drove the tig maybe 12 feet, then parked it up. Came back to it later in the day to go and pick the mrs up and the damn thing wont start. the engine turns over, but refuses to fire up, any common causes? I noticed that i couldnt hear the fuel pump priming, but not sure if i could hear it when the car was working, so maybe its nothing. So far I have tried: 1. tried a spare coil pack - no change 2. checked fuses in fuse box - all good 3. tried spare key - no change 4. took drivers door handle apart, as it was broken anyway. (the hand-book metions that the tigra has some form of mechanical immob. built into the locks) found part of the metal mechanism has snapped. there is a small micro-switch which i believe controls the deadlock function. from what I can tell, the broken bit is meant to make contact with said microswitch. 5.checked all visible connections and condition of ignition parts (all the obvious stuff 6. made sure it actually has petrol in it! I'm thinking that the car is suffering from either a dead fuel pump/fuel pump relay (anyone know where the relay is?) or some other wierd electrical gremlin can anyone tell me where the fuel pump relay is hidden? i couldnt find it anywhere! any help would be much appreciated. got my mechanic mate coming to look at it tomorrow. oh its a 1.4 16v of around 98 vintage have a couple of pics of the useless tig

	if its like the corsa/astra it will be behind the plastic cover in the drivers footwell,nearest door.You should be able to hear the pump prime as soon as you turn key to prepare to start it.

	This sounds like nothing more than its flooded itself. When you move it from cold a few feet then turn off excess fuel sits in the bores and manifold etc,when you go to restart the ecu thinks the engines cold (because the coolant temp sensor/air temp sensors give that info) and so it increases injector duration to give a richer mixture (again) to aid a cold star If the engine doesn't catch and run first try the engine will just continually overfuel itself fouling the spark plugs with unburnt fuel and petrol will wash the film of oil of the cylinders (bore wash) lowering the compression too. (Normally you move straight off so coolant/air temp rises and so injector duration is reduced while you drive so when you stop/start again the ecu has leaned off the fuel mixture). Remove the plugs and dry them with a blow torch,spin the engine over throttle floored for a few seconds then refit the plugs.make sure the battery has a GOOD charge. If you can find the fuel pump fuse or relay remove it and crank it over with the pedal fully down,when the engine fires and dies refit the fuse/relay and try again (still full throttle),the engine should stutter and run up.hold it at a fast ilde then allow to idle for ten mins and all should be well. P.S it may take a few attempts of the above to get it running. This a common problem that seems to effect micra's and jags alot too. P.S you could allways drag it down the road on a rope and bump it but I would never advise tow starting a cam belted engine.

	found the fault. jammed fuel pump. gave it a whack and it now works. don't trust it to last, so gonna swap it out anyway. i had considered it might be flooded, but decided that after a day and it still not working, that it was something else that was at fault thanks for the help guys

	If an efi floods, flooring the throtle whilst cranking will cut the fuel, the ECU assumes a flooded engine if it sees W.O.T and cranking, I know it's sorted but a tip worth remembering. PS the bloody spelling/swear filter not letting you spell W O T is rather anoying, keeps changing it to what
