Hello everyone
I've got a pretty tidy '82 Cortina Crusader with front footwells that seem to fill up with water as soon as the atmosphere becomes a bit damp.
I've had the metal underneath the heater matrix welded up, and I've fitted a new screen rubber, but the passenger footwell is still getting wet.
Any ideas please?

inner wing kick panels the inner wing rots and when driven in the wet the front wheels kick water up into the rear of the front wings

What about the inner scuttle panel up behind the dash? I'm not familiar with the 'tina's construction so I don't know if they rot there but some cars do.

Has it got a sunroof? If it's an aftermarket glass one it'll be pretty obvious if it leaks, if it's a factory steel one (I don't know if they had them) check the drain holes are clear. Open the roof and poke some stout wire down the holes to clear any blockages. Failing that, is the plastic membrane behind the door trim panel intact? If it's been hacked about to fit speakers/access the window mechanism it could be letting water in...

It could even be coming in the doors. Are the rubbers, and the panel gaps alright?
