Does anyone know if these are the same 'nose' as other common makes? I'd like chrome or SS ones for my 66 Minx if poss. Wondering if some other make might get results.
It actually came with chrome ones on, but they're straight 60 degree taper whereas the wheelnut 'well' looks dished, like a bullet nose shape.

Most Rootes wheels, certainly of that era, should have spherical seats, not 60 deg taper. Its not a good idea to run taper seat nuts on a spherical seat wheel as the nuts won't "lock" on to it properly and could easily work loose. I don't know if there's anything with spherical seats in the saem thread size. Minis have them but with a smaller thread. A '66 Minx is probably on 13" rims? If so then you could get some 13" Ford steel wheels from an Anglia/Cortina and then use common chrome taper nuts, eg.

Thanks Seth. They are lil' 13s indeed. The nuts that came with it won't be going back on, all that pressure at one point. Think I'll find some OEM nuts for now, and see about wheel swaps later on when the credit card's recovered from paint & materials costs.

Imps use the same nuts as early mini's, with the more shallow seating angle. Not sure if all Rootes stuff of the era were the same..

Thanks for that, it's another avenue to look at, bound to be some shiney Mini stuff out there so that could be handy...
