After quite a bit of soul searching I have decided to put my Xantia V6 up for sale, bought it as a non runner and have fixed the majority of the issues, and got it through its MOT about two weeks ago.
Used it for that period and has performed without issue, but there are still a couple of things that need addressing. Going to try and list all the good and bad things below.
Bad things:
Rear Windows do not work
Sunroof does not work.
Flaking/Mark of paintwork/laquer where previous owner taped a cover over the sunroof as it was stuck open.
Horn working via crude bypass. (Button on the dashboard – Only did this at first to get through MOT and see if anything major needed doing)
Engine cover missing.
Dent in bonnet on n/s
Dent on front n/s bumper
General Scrapes.Knocks and Dents for a car of this age.
N/S Front fog light missing
Possibly needs a new belt tensioner fitting as can squeal a bit on start up. (not everytime though)
Leaves a couple of drops of LHM fluid, so minor leak somewhere. (Only minor as not had to top up)
Only one key
Could do with a good clean
Cruise not working, but possible easy (pipe) fix as can hear relays trying to kick in.
Heated seats not working
Right hand side stereo controls on steering wheel not working. (Track selection)
No service history, but believe the car was looked after by the previous Doctor owner.
Drivers side lights within sun visor do not work.
Temp Display on Dashboard is out. Goes up and down, but is about 20 degrees to hot.
Good Things
Remote Central Locking Works on all doors
Front One shot electric windows both work
Passenger wing mirror dips when engage reverse. (I actually hate this feature)
Both electric wing mirrors working
Full Leather Interior.
Radio and CD Multidisc in boot
Left hand side stereo steering wheel controls working (Volume)
Climate Control
Air Con (Ice cold)
The V6 engine is fantastic. (190bhp I believe)
Auto gearbox (Sport mode, Winter mode)
No warning lights on dashboard.
Rain sensing wipers working. (Did not even realise the car had them till the other day)
Suspension performs faultlessly.
Headlamp Wash facility working.
11.5 months road tax (That are not included, but can be purchased at cost price if needed)
Have removed the V6 badge off the tailgate and polished it back so no residue. Did this to try and give a few people a shock when a Xantia shot off from the lights..
Load more close up pictures can be seen below. However wheels are the ones as per above. As swapped them over on to my daily driver.
