Hi guys been on & off here for a few years now.My last retro ride was my little Datsun 100a which I sold last year as I was made redundant!
Soon after I got a new job so bought this from a mate of mine locally. It had 1/2 the interior missing & no engine but was so say solid! So I picked it up with a mate & got it home to begin the strip down.
I knew I was going to build a drift style car so ripped out all the interior incl bulk head soundproofing, tar insulation & any other form of road noise deadening.
This left it like this,
I then cut out the rear seat support & welded up the holes it left & painted the interior in primer & satin white.
I hten cleaned all the dash parts & began putting things back in.
Batttery located to the boot.
I made a centre panel for fuel pump, ignition on,ignition start & emergency cut out.
At the same time I'd been removing all the engine bay auxillary items so I could clean & paint the engine bay.It was here the ''rot free'' shell bit back!
The abs had obviously been leaking quite badly & had rooted threw the inner wing & along the chassis rail!
The front valnce was shot to pieces but with the fab skills of my brother we replaced all the rotten metal with good & I just chassis blacked the hole engine bay & front end;D ;D
After the horrors of the front end I stripped the rear subframe out, wire brushed the underside & found a few more little holes!
The underside was then zinc primed & schaltzed all the way up to the engine bay.
