Defo not heading for track or scrap as the lady received letter from DVLA notifying someone had applied for the log books! She told her local police and apparently they say the addresses are false or something, and also the police won't put the vehicles on the stolen list because the person in charge of the barn says they 'gave them to the scrap man'. (Hmm)

Why check ovalchat why not? it's one possibility where they may end up even if bought in good faith from someone in a pub. rather than getting upset which makes you sound a little guilty of what does go on why not just say " i'll keep a look out because not all of us are as bad as you think" ? isn't it a little strange that the MK10 Jag turned up prepared for a banger race after it was suggested it may end up on the track. it's like going around in circles on this debate (no pun intended)

We don't need this argument again. We accept that the majority of banger racers are legitimate and law abiding but there is also a minority that races stolen cars.
You guys really need to put the effort into sorting that minority out.

Why check ovalchat blaming the banger boys again are we give it a rest always blame them when something goes missing what a load of tosser need to get your fact right before you go round blaming people Why NOT check Ovalchat? If a car has been stolen, why not put notification in every viable place to look for it? It's like saying "Someone ate my dinner while I wasn't looking. There's three other people in the house, but I'll only ask one of them if they ate it." The banger community are always so quick to jump on the defensive when a car gets stolen, and so quick to melt into the background when it gets found in a banger-prepped state. Like rmad said, your community should be doing more to prevent the minority from ruining it for the majority. You want to stop finger pointing, sort your community out from the inside.

OK here's something interesting...
I remember a guy in Suffolk ringing up wanting some spares a while back, with a car he'd just picked up that had been in a barn for many years, matched description 100%. I found I still had his details, so I rang him. Still has the car, and apparently bought it for £700 from the owner of the barn. Not sure what is going to be the outcome of that but the Bedford is still AWOL and did not go to the same guy.
What seems to have happened is the lady died so the barn owner (a family friend) sold the cars rather than contact the daughter.
I'll let you know what happens.
Please keep your eyes peeled for the van as nobody knows where that went.

I don't want to turn this the wrong way but i seem to remember seeing a similar bedford van on ebay sometime ago, was red with signwriting down the side and had been stored in a barn for some time. Might have been another van of course though but just thought i would mention it. Were they taken a while ago and she has only just noticed?

No more details other than it was a while ago, possibly last year and looked very similar.

I remember that too, it was in norfolk somewhere and had a ridiculously low mileage like 6000 or something.

Not sure what is going to be the outcome of that You know when people on here are so keen to acquire the logbooks for cars which are abandoned and nobody wants... Even buying cars which are lein sales (ie to recover storage or money owed for work done on them) 2 sides in every story. Make sure paperwork is in order, make sure everything's legit. If I bought that 240K in good faith I'd feel awful to read this.
