Roll of masking film arrived yesterday, so really started attacking the foliage today: Had some 'proper' work to do as well so didn't get a lot of time on it, but even so I'm quite pleased with progress. Anth

I'm interested in this roll of masking film. I've always done battle with stinky masking fluid that I like so little I tend to just rely on a steady hand instead. If there's a better, cleaner, less smelly product I could use instead I'm all ears.

Masking film is great for defined outlines - clag it on then cut it with a nice sharp scalpel and Bob's your aunty's live-in lover. Search for masking film on Amazon and you'll probably find Frisket or similar, around £12 a roll but it'll last you. Love the DS by the way anth

A bit more digital stuff, as a bit of a break while I'm working on some traditional paintings. I know it infringes all sorts of copyrights, so I can't use this commercially. I just liked the visual pun The car itself might be re-used in a less dubious situation in the future though.

Ratchart: Doesn't that fall under parody? You've not displayed the name or emblems of the car, or the other company, so technically no copyright infringement.

Just squeezed the second BX offering in this month. It's the 16 valve offering, remember when valve count sold cars?

It's Metro March, apparently, because it's March and folks voted that I should do Metro artwork. It's a brilliant excuse for me to finally do a Chairman piece, something I've been wanting to do for ages. From a time when public transport wasn't accessible for all, it was good that someone was at least attempting to provide a solution and the Metro was probably the smallest of the offerings for this conversion. For those that are unfamiliar with them, the rear end has a door that is hinged at the bottom to serve as a ramp so a wheelchair user can roll straight into the back of the car where the wheelchair is then secured. It didn't mean quite the level of independance of something like an Invacar, but it did mean that some got to travel much further afield and live life more fully than they might otherwise have been able so I reckon these sorts of vehicles deserve much more respect than ridicule for what they were and what they represent.

I've had the biros out again. Not commissions but both inspired by cars I saw at shows last year.

Ooh that Mustang looks mean as owt! Finished the Firebird yesterday - six months later. Just need to see whether the owner's happy with it in real life now Anth

That's brilliant. And the background is just as good as the car, the colours really go well together.

Been flogging on with this painting for the last month so haven't posted much - other than a couple of details (number plate and lower grille on the Montego) this one's finished. Next!

Delivered these two pieces to a customer yesterday. A 1958 Chevy Biscayne, for the benefit of those not into 50s American cars. The Ford truck in the background is his other vehicle, which I did a full colour painting of last year, so now he has a matching pair. Painting rust and patina requires a different technique and way of thinking and it can be a bit intimidating at first, but once I got into the swing of it I really enjoyed the process.
