OK so the features are mainly of cars that were on their stand at the show. That blue Renault 4, two hot Avenger Tigers, the early Celica (80s one, not the Mustang shape), Lancia Monte Carlo buying guide. But what leapt out at me was the little "separated at birth" box they have in the news section. The SAAB 9000 and Lancia Thema - two shots from the rear three quarters, and a bit of blurb about how "only the back end of course, but very similar all the same. It's quite ironic when you consider the two cars are from different planets when it comes to build quality..." etc. Umm, they are both basically the same car, no? The Type-4 joint project - Thema, 9000, Alfa 164 and Fiat Croma? No wonder they look similar, same basic shell and doors for a start! Looks like Alfa splurged out for new door pressings though ;D Come on guys! You should know this! I'd have the Thema

Hah hah!
See, now I'm thinking... I wonder if the Ferrari lump out of the Thema 8.32 would go into the Croma, THAT would be interesting ;D
Mind you, a solid Croma is rare enough, let alone a donor 8.32!
All that power would play havoc with the floppy-wobbly Croma shell too... Some strengthening may be required ;D

Where did they find these guys who write for RC? I assume some of they must walk around with imacculately wiped elbows and very smelly bums. Overheard the 'editor' on sunday speaking to several owners and clearly not having a clue what he was looking at / talking about. ROLL ON RETRO DRIVER!

Thats the problem with ideas,... when you get into the practicalities of them!
Anything else interesting in there?

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Now how could you have missed the readers rides section and not seen the Estelle which appears if I'm not mistaken to be Mr Andy Imp/Skodastop's.

At least there wasn't yet another MG or TR7, not that i'm against either but nearly every month with one or the other or both gets a bit boring. Roll on next month, SD1 racer in there! Then sometime after that a certain other SD1 that you might know will be in there.

Only about 10 of the 150+ body parts are interchangable between the 9k and the fiat/lancia. But yes, a literal seperated at birth there!
Someone even built a 9000 estate using one of the italian cars.
