This is my (ex) wifes Ford Ka.
Good Bits
Great Engine - Starts first time. Around 96,000 miles
Good interior
Cassette Player /w Now That's What I call Christmas
Boot full of Next catalogues
Some chocolate coin wrappers on the back seat.
Half a tank of fuel.
Bad Bits
No MOT
No Tax - Been on SORN since Feb 2010
Rust
It's Purple.
I took some pictures a couple of weeks ago, but they were on another memory card that I've lost (Moving house), so I'll take some more tomorrow and post them up.
We've owned it about 10 years and during that time it never let us down. The only thing(s) to break have been the door lock mechanisms. The locks themselves are fine. The drivers locks but doesn't unlock. The passenger door has just started doing the same. So when I attempted to go through the boot the other day to start it, that's the same too. Might need a bit of WD40 in there, otherwise it'll be a brick through the window.
It failed it's last two MOTs on rusty sills and boot floor, which have been patched up but I reckon there'll be more. There's rust bubbles around the filler cap too.
It started life as a learner car, as you can make out where the sticker was on the boot lid.
Over the years it's had a new windscreen, new O/S/R window (which I had to smash after my ex accidentally locked her keys in the back. Along with our then 8 month old daughter!)
It will require a bit of work to get it into a road worthy condition, but I thought I'd offer it here first to see if there's any interest before weighing it in.
It will need trailering away. It is located three miles from the M62 Junction 27.
Neighbours are building a wall this week so it got splashed with mortar
A few more miles than I thought, but still a good engine
Rust
Update:
I was able to unlock the boot. It was just a bit stiff. The passenger door won't even open from the inside (the lever won't come out of the locked position) so it's deffo the mechanism on that side.
My ex got an 05 plate Corsa to replace this, but she much prefers the Ka. If it wasn't so rusty she'd still be using it.
