NOW SOLD
So its been about a year since I last owned a 'retro' aged car, ok been a few other early 90's dubs and the hilux in the mix, but the last true retro was sold about a year ago
Ok, i've got the hilux which is great fun, kind of retro, but more an old modern..
Recently i've been getting more and more miffed and was drifitng away from here - then something clicked - I needed an older motor again
What tho - well Wendy (swmbo) isnt driving yet, but is considering not bothering with gears and ust going auto, to be honest I liek the laziness too and if your just wanting to cruise about, why need gears..
so we started looking about, decided to stay away from the VW's despite knowing the slamtana is back up for sale..
looked at a few models, but werent feeling them, wendy's fancied a chevette for a while, anyway, for the last few weeks we've been looking on ebay under classic cars and auto, just to see what crops up, then I saw and ad and I suddenly remembered - when I was a lad my uncle had a mk1 cavalier sport in his garage and always said, one day steve that'll be yours - anyway that day never happened..
Anyway - a few emails were sent - pics were received, a deal was done and today I popped on a train - 3 hours later i'm met at a train station by the seller, we travelled back to their house and I was so excited.. Deal was finalised and set off home...
70 miles later and not a murmer i'm home - picked up Wendy, went for a bite to eat and then grabbed a couple of snaps (sorry they are a bit rubbish)
So as you may recall, all our vehicles are named - so please let me introduce you all to Clunky
1979 MK1 Cavalier L (same birthyear as Wendy too)
speedo shows 33.5 k - i'm guessing this has been round, but its in such a clean condition its hard to know for certain, only history is verbal, was family owned from new, sold to someone else who then sold to the chap I bought from..
.. anyways of the rabble - have some (poor) pics
