Wahey thats good stuff! As long as its comfortable to use thats all that matters. Just reminded me wanted to have a look at Phoenix's hydraulic handbrake at CaRS

Hydraulic handbrakes are not illegal. But you do need to have a seperate braking system for the main handbrake. So you have two options either you keep the cable handbrake as I and also I presume Gofasterpinch will do or you have to have a completely seperate hydraulic system including a seperate caliper. This way isnt as common any more but you used to see a lot of mk2 escorts like this for rallying after converting to discs before the popularity of the sierra rear caliper

mine is inline with the rear brakes. i cant use discs on the back without making it massively overbraked and having to use a bias box.
aslong as there is a cable system still attached then this is still an MOT pass. alot of the escort boys are using XR3i front calipers on the back, which means they need to fit a "spot" caliper or modify the XR3i caliper to run a cable aswell
