Ok - so not technically a retro question but one which I would value some input anyway. I'm looking at fitting a towbar to my 2000 (W) fiesta 1.25 LX, and there are loads of kits on eBay for not a lot of money as they have universal wiring kits rather than vehicle specific ones, which can cost loads. however, they seem to be wired in by scotchlok-ing the wires into the wiring for the rear light clusters. I have never used scothchloks before and I have no idea if this is wise/safe/legal. Also, if the bar bolts through the boot floor into the chassis/monocoque box-section - does this leave the bolt heads protruding into the boot space?
Any thought/experiences would be greatly appreciated
