Put my 100A back together and drive 2000 km's to Santa Pod hey mate, i dunno whether it would cut the distance down any, but there is a ferry from Stolkholm ( ? ) to Newcastle. Its a long time on the ferry but more relaxed than pan-europe traveling. you could then join the NE convoy down to the 'Pod. My promise : pass my driving test and afford insurance/petrol/tax and take a Skoda there. Might race another suitably under-powered car down the strip too!

I'd like to have a strip car there just for fun like..always fancied doing something silly to a volvo 244 since i had a lovely beige one..mmm... Aside from that, maybe a higher hopping air car. Also I'd like to talk to more people.

I'd like to think the Cressy might be different than this year, but it might not. Let's be honest, now the seat covers are on what more could I do? Don't answer that.

Maybe I’ll try and roll that barrel right out and turn up in a classic car that has been ‘modified’ in some way or other, I know it’s a crazy idea, and I’m treading a path fraught with difficulties, but you never know do you, it might *just* work…..

I'll make a point of dragging this thread out June next year, when we go; 'where has the fuggin time gone! Haha, thats so true! Seing everyones cars, watching fast times bieng layed down on the strip, and chatting with people who share the same "you can do it" attitude has really inspired me this year, even more than previous years I'm sure without the show this forum and you guys on it I would almost definately be driving a Mongdeo or something equally uninspiring. I have a rather ambitious and cunning project planned, but I don't want to say i'm going to definately do it until i've actually made a start because the project is one of those things that a lot of people say they are going to do but in reality never actually go through with (according to my google searches on the subject anyway ) and I don't want to be one of those people! I'm working on it today, and i've been collecting parts, making notes and sketching it all out so it shouldn't be long before I know if i'm going ahead with it! You guys will be the first to know

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Maybe turn up next year. It's a long way to go in a car the size of a biscuit tin though.

Maybe turn up next year. It's a long way to go in a car the size of a biscuit tin though. How about buing a cheap retro barge then for these special occasions There were loads of Mini's there and they are smaller than biscuit tins, besides slater will be driving a diddy fiat 126 with fat roll cage taking the interior. no excuses! ;D

Well I'll either plough all my money into the Golf (decent suspension and wheels sorting, home-brewed forced induction), actually finish my Beetle, or add some other random retro to my fleet. Ideas? I'm rather tempted by some early 80s J-tin.

As silly as it sounds, I'm going to endeavour to make the trek from the Southern Hemisphere. I'm actually going to fly over to see my partner, however, I'll happen to "find out" there's a car show on!!!! Time to see something different from the NZ scene as well.....

I should have the GT firing on all cyls and hopefully a gearbox with fully operational overdrive, so a full-bore blast up the strip is in order ;D
