A new name for an age-old style.
It works though, and if it pushes the style back into the limelight, and results in more like this Clio, then you won't find me complaining.

Low on Rota grids... ha! Accidentally in fashion,.. but then it is a timeless style Reckon you are right MM on the naming after the wheels.

I bet it handles poop though.......oh hang on i think that's why it's GRID look and not TRACK look because it can't make it off the grid without scrubbing out, falling off or not getting full lock ;D Still for a modern clio it looks nice, and the look works well on other moderns as said

I also thought of Rota Grids when I saw the name...
I think this forum complaining mods are done for looks not for performance is a bit rich LOL. It's too low, my oh my!
I'd be interested on more spec on this one. I can't put my finger on what's been done but it feels like a car with work in it, and I think that's probably why I like it

This is a massive winner for me, although as stated previously, it's not exactly reinventing the wheel but then again, originality is so passé... I must admit, I did a double take when I saw this on the cover of Fast Car as I'm so used to seeing cars that wouldn't look out of place in the circus. The King is dead; long live the king

It started as a 1.2 and had 182 fast bits added.

I can't put my finger on what's been done but it feels like a car with work in it, and I think that's probably why I like it I don't know if this was aimed at my first post or not, but just for clarity, I wasn't so much saying the car's too low, just that if you're going to sacrifice performance for looks with the wheels and suspension, then it seems strange to then track prep the car in other aspects. I'd personally prefer it with an interior and minus the roll cage, or with a track orientated wheel and suspension choice, but then again its not my car, and it still looks awesome, so all's good.

Very nice. Very clean. That's kind of where my Cinq is going, mostly on the basis that 54bhp doesn't get you very far so I'm lightening it where possible and paying attention to the suspendy bits to make it work around corners better for comparison, here's my mates actual racing car, being scrutineered before a race at Mallory Park a few weeks ago.

I think its chuffing ace! I also think that the 'stanced' camber and wheel fitment, with sweet-fa suspension travel is far more suiting to a stripped out track look car with a cage and fixed buckets, than it is for a normal looking car with full interior. This is probably due to the fact of whenever i think of a race car (ie a touring or GT car) i always think of ultra low ride heights and minimal sidewalls. Rather than a road car, which has to deal with pot holes and speed bumps so has arch gap, suspension travel and decent sized tyres. TBH ive never been a massive fan of a regular car thats just had the usual 'sweet wheels and stick' treatment, i mean, it can improve the look of anything, but its only doing the looks isn't it? This takes it that next step (or two) further, and makes it a much more 'overall modified car'. Would love to hear thats it's getting (or has got?) either some forced induction or a bigger motor bolted in ;D My summary? Looks like a pre-95 touring car, but as a hatch rather than a saloon. More please

I like this car. I like the look. I don't feel the need to say if things are new or old hat. When it comes down to it we like low, clean (as in not covered in kits and the like) cars...most of the looks are based in those two mods. Pro street, lowrider, track, cal-look, Euro, Shakotan, street rods, pro-touring. Those looks get tweaked, have different details or fashions or even just a new audience - which leads to a new name...if it means there's more cool cars out there then why be negative?

Akku I wasn't complaining, it looks awesome like that, just pointing out the irony of calling something a track/race orientated genre when it can't live up to it's looks. Like having a loud exhaust and induction kit on a 1.0 making it sounds like something it's not. ;D been there done that, looked like a fool The challenge is to find that look or even those wheels on something non japanese. This could be where hatches are heading style wise for the next few years, euro hatches especially. I reckon this look would be pretty darn sweet on the new Fiat 500 Abarth or the 500 Esseesse hope that makes up for any appearance of negativity

Many of the pro street hero show cars back in the day were practically undrivable let alone able to run better than a 15.
Race look for show is not an exclusive here either.
Its about how the car looks, compromises have to be made.

What like? Can't see much from the outside, so need info! Mainly around the rear arches, they took forever to get right and equal but if you look very closely drivers side is ever so slightly wider Most of the fast bit where already on it, although fast car didnt tell you that.

Would be nice if they would stop labelling them as its seems to create another following rather than people thinking for themselves.....
BUT.
I realy like the car. Think it looks spot on and the wheels are a realy good choice. All the right colours in all the right places.. I litterally don't think id outwardly change anything...

I like it, although I am biased as I own a Clio 182. They are a brilliant drive and I intend to keep mine as long as possible. This sort of look also gives me faith that they have all sorts of scope. Inferno Orange for even more win though I say!

As moderns go I'd certainly watch that drive by. At least they didn't call it kustom ;D
