Okay folks, my old '72 VW Type2 van now lives with my dad. He has been doing a sterling rennovation on it for the past couple of years. It has come to the point where the cab floor needs replacing, now he has all the parts. Whilst he can weild a welding torch he is loathed to do the cab floor. So he has asked me if any of you are able to assist, or can point him in the direction of a reputable mobile welder. Finances are available for services rendered.
So who is a high quality welder, or knows a high quality welder that is able to travel to Epsom in Surrey to help my dad?

Hey my dad needs a decent mobile welder too!! Anyone out there with a mig and grinder who can do a bit of welding on his Beta saloon? He’s in Wisbech Cambs, the car is in a spacious garage with good lighting and electricity supplied, jacks and stands etc are all there. Just needs the flaky front end of the sill sorted out, wing is already off - I am certain its no more than a couple of hours work for a good job. Obv he will pay a decent rate, + travelling time or whatever.
Please don’t let him try and do it him self, for the car’s sake!!!

Hotwire, so has he got new floor panels and needs the old floor cutting out (or the spot welds drilling out) and welding back in? I might be able to do that for you depending on how concourse you want it to look. I haven't got a spot welder but I can MIG it in nicely for you and grind it back so you won't be able to tell. If there is any sill damage etc I can make you up some repair pieces while I'm there. Let me know as I'm not too far away and I haven't got much work on at the mo.

He has cut the old floor out (messy job) and has the new floor ready to go in, but isn't confident enough of his welding skills to put it in. Going for neat and solid rather than concours.
What you reckon? You up for that?

Sounds like no problem then. I'll keep it neat anyway, nothing worse than pulling up the carpets and going WHOA check that lot out! Probably best if I shoot over on the bike to have a look at it and see what I need to bring over then load the tools over.
Drop me a PM for my phone number and we can arrange a visit, early next week is good for me.
