I'm currently playing with among other things a mk4 Supra 3.0 manual, that's getting turned into a track day weapon, problem is it developed a weird running problem a few weeks ago that is proving impossible to resolve, that said I'm no EFI or even MFI expert, the seemingly simple Bosch cis system on my 911 leaves me completely baffled, so I'm hoping an efi boffin can help me...
Anyway the car starts fine but soon begins to run stupidly rich and almost unable to idle, it throws out black smoke like you wouldn’t believe and the wall behind where it was left running for 5 minutes was solid sooty black over a metre radius from the exhaust tip..
Sometimes it makes a wierd sucky noise from the inlet tract kinda like a hoover when it's got something stick in the nozzle.. but not always..
We've tried known good lambda sensors and MAP sensor and unplugging various sensors seems to do nothing ..
It doesn’t appear an injectors stuck open as I’ve unplugged them in turn there’s no AFM on these cars just the MAP...
any thoughts?
