time is against me again, so a quick post with some of the general stuff from Wollaton Park on Sunday.
There may be a few more posts with some more specific stuff in it.
I was very taken by this Austin van.
It has a story or two to tell
I wouldn't try driving it on these tyres though. I assume long term storage.
NATO painting your car is not a new fad, greybeards have been at it since like 1939. (technically not NATO I Know)
Carp faced van can't decide if its an Austin or a Morris. I'd love one of these as a minibus.
I also harbour much lust for the big Farinas.
This Princess being right on the money for me.
silver painted bumpers FTW.
Much excitement, probably too much excitement, was expressed at the woodgrain roof rack on this Humber estate.
I think the owner was concerned Steve might leave a deposit on the car he was so excited.
its the shnitz though.
Dean's Bond flying the RR flag.
That Spitfire.
The cleanest Maxi you will ever see?
P6 Harlequin Edition.
This one belongs to an old chum Graham.
chock full of period stuff.
Its all original patina too, properly, not hanging, it was a one owner car (IIRC) last used in the 1970s, it was matt like primer when he got it and full of sand as it was used as a "beach car". Anyway, this defines "sympathetic restoration".
1 of 2 - Morris Isis Traveller.
Another delightful Farina
I guess he didn't read the sign though
SLOTMAGS FTW
Austin chassis obviously more rust-resiliant than the body was...
Now this is quite the most fuggin bizarre thing, its a book, obviously published before the Data Protection Act of "private" car registrations and who owns them, along with their address...
Many very patina's Morris grills there for some reason.
Look, another one.
New for '11 - the build your own rat rod kit.
rarity.
Dean buying some stuff he doesn't need because it got thrown in with the stuff he did.
Mr Stromberg demonstrating the different types of bottom tap used on different ages of CD series carbs. I wish I were joking.
These dudes were having fun. Well the accordionist guy was.
got mags?
Cabbie Cossie Toy
Hitch disapproves
But I kinda like the idea of an orange leather retrim and pale maple wood in a burgundy Rolls Royce.
This looked kinda evil. I like. Not sure about the mud plugger tyres but they sort of add to the weird Munsters vibe going on here.
More later.
